The DADSAC team in Switzerland and Kenya

The DADSAC committee has four members: three in Switzerland and one in Dandora, Nairobi. On the ground, the association also employs two people, supported by volunteers. Two of them founded the association in March 2021; the other two joined the committee in 2023.

Swiss team

The three Swiss members do not live in Dandora. They look for donations and keep the books. The target is 840 CHF a month, split between food, running costs and the local team’s wages. The budget is broken down on the Support Us page.

Oskar Crettenand

Co-founder, executive committee

Oskar came from Switzerland in 2021 to work with the Kenyan NGO Call Africa, with street children. In Dandora he met John, who was already looking after the children of his neighbourhood. They founded DADSAC together in March 2021, for the young people of that neighbourhood.

Viktor Crettenand

Treasurer, executive committee

Oskar’s brother, Viktor went to see DADSAC’s work in Dandora in February 2023. He joined the association as treasurer on his return. He tracks the monthly budget.

Amin Torrisi

Vice-president, web manager

Amin joined DADSAC in September 2023. As vice-president, he looks after the website and the association’s online presence. Online donations and contact requests both come through this site. He maintains it in both French and English.

On the ground in Dandora

John represents DADSAC on the ground. In 2023, the centre he runs took in between 80 and 100 young people a day.

John has lived in Dandora since childhood. He is nearly 50 and has four children. He had already been supporting young people in the neighbourhood for more than ten years before DADSAC existed. Today he runs the activities at the centre and talks with the parents, whom he knows one by one. John’s role in the community.
