DADSAC in pictures: everyday life in Dandora

The photographs on this page were taken at the DADSAC centre in Dandora, where the association has worked since March 2021. They show a football team, a lesson at the blackboard, the vegetable garden and meals served in the open air. The nine images are grouped below into three sets.

Sport every day

The football team trains with kit supplied by the association and travels to local tournaments. The traditional dance group runs through a sequence again and again until everyone moves together. Both take place outdoors, with no hall and no floorboards.

Learning and making

The centre opens once school is out. A teacher writes on the blackboard while the children settle outside on the wooden benches with their exercise books. In 2023, between 80 and 100 young people came through each day. Drawing happens here too, with materials the association supplies.

Feeding and running the place

A meal is cooked on site and served in the yard. The children wait at the cooking pots, plate in hand, then sit down under a tree to eat. The association also grows a vegetable garden, in narrow beds worked by hand. The building itself carries the academy’s full name across its front.
